On March 26th to 27th, 2024, the Comprehensive Review Meeting for the " 2023 Building Materials Science and Technology Award", jointly established by the China Building Materials Federation and the Chinese Ceramic Society, was held at Guangxi University. Li Yeqing, Executive Vice President and Executive Director of the Expert Committee of CBMF, and President of Huaxin Cement, Peng Shou, Executive Director of the Expert Committee, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as Chief Experts of the Expert Committee including Jiang Desheng, Miao Changwen, Zhang Lianmeng, Dong Shaoming, Fu Zhengyi, Liu Jiaping, and other 17 industry experts attended the review meeting. Liu Jianhua, Vice President of CBMF, and Liao Wenjun, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Shi Hongwei, Vice Secretary-General of the CBMF and Director of the Department of Science and Technology Development, chaired the meeting.

The Building Materials Science and Technology Award is a comprehensive and authoritative scientific and technological award for the national building materials industry, serving as an important basis and pathway for nominating National Scientific and Technological Awards in the industry. It implements the important instructions on scientific and technological innovation proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping, prioritizing and encouraging original, disruptive, and iterative solutions to urgent issues such as the security of the industry's supply chain and "bottlenecks," supporting major scientific and technological achievements that promote the green, low-carbon, digital, intelligent, and high-end development of the industry. The award highlights scientists and frontline technologists who have made creative contributions to the country and the industry, selects science and technology awards that meet the requirements of the times and have international standards, and fully leverages the important guiding role of scientific and technological awards in leading the industry's technological progress.

During the meeting, the Expert Committee of the China Building Materials Federation also organized a seminar on the major scientific and technological breakthroughs in the building materials industry for this year, focusing on key research directions. Academicians and experts focused on the "major technological equipment manufacturing in the building materials industry" research direction, emphasizing three aspects: upgrading of major basic equipment, R&D of key technological equipment addressing bottlenecks, and development of cutting-edge technological equipment. They provided insights and opinions from their respective fields, engaging in in-depth discussions and exchanges.
