To implement the outcomes of the Sino-German Climate Change and Green Transition Dialogue and further advance key energy efficiency demonstration projects, the Workshop on Energy Efficiency and CO2 Reduction in Cement Industry was successfully held in Beijing on October 10, 2024, under the guidance of the NDRC's Department of Environmental Resources. Hosted by the National Energy Conservation Center and GIZ and organized by China Building Materials Federation, the event brought together 160 participants both in-person and online, including representatives from the government, international organizations, industry associations, and leading companies.
Representatives from both Chinese and German institutions actively shared insights on relevant policies, advanced technologies, and case studies in the cement industry. GIZ introduced key energy efficiency demonstration projects, while organizations like the China Building Materials Federation and Germany's Allplan discussed policy and technology development in the cement sectors of both countries. Companies such as Conch Group, CR Cement Technology, Siemens (China), Linde Industrial Gases, and Germany’s Humboldt shared specific energy-saving and carbon-reduction technologies and case studies. Representatives from CR Cement Technology, Huaxin Cement, China National Building Material, and others participated in expert Q&A sessions and in-depth discussions.
