On October 20th, the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Southeast University held a grand ceremony to celebrate its 40th anniversary, along with the naming ceremony of the "Miao Changwen Star." Yan Xiaofeng, President of the China Building Materials Federation, was invited to attend the event, and Vice President Liu Jianhua read a congratulatory letter on behalf of the Federation.

With the approval of the International Astronomical Union's Minor Planet Center Naming Committee, asteroid No. 578168, discovered by the Purple Mountain Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has been officially named after Academician Miao Changwen, a prominent building materials expert, Vice President of the China Building Materials Federation, and Chief Expert of its Expert Committee.
