On November 19, President Yan Xiaofeng held discussions with Deputy Director-General Bai Zhengsheng of the Department of Standards and Quotas, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD), and his delegation. The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration, promoting synergy between the building materials and construction industries, and advancing the alignment of "high-quality materials" with "high-quality housing."

President Yan expressed his sincere gratitude to MOHURD leaders and departments for their continuous support and guidance in enhancing cooperation between the two industries. He emphasized the close connection between the building materials and construction sectors, noting that the seamless integration of material production and application is crucial for industry development. He highlighted that advancements in building materials and technologies can only be validated through practical applications in construction. The China Building Materials Federation (CBMF), under MOHURD’s leadership, will adopt a problem-oriented approach driven by real-world scenarios to strengthen R&D and application studies, ensure the precise use of materials, and promote transparent construction practices, enabling "high-quality materials" to support "high-quality housing" with robust material solutions.

Deputy Director-General Bai noted that building materials are essential for ensuring construction quality and enhancing building performance. He emphasized the importance of connecting materials, design, and construction to address critical issues in housing quality and meet the demand for "high-quality housing." He called for deeper collaboration between the building and materials industries, aiming to bridge production and application. He stressed the need for coordinated efforts in applying new products, promoting building energy efficiency, and fostering innovation platforms, urging further integration and mutual development.

Both parties agreed to establish a regular communication mechanism and collaborate in areas such as fundamental research on common issues in building material applications, coordinated efforts in R&D and application of new materials and technologies, alignment of building and materials standards, and promotion of new products and technologies. This collaboration aims to enhance the seamless integration of building materials production and application and to advance coordinated development in the building and construction materials industries.

Attendees included CBMF Executive Vice President Chen Guoqing, Secretary-General Shang Yanqing, Vice President Sun Xingshou, Director Feng Shuai (Industry Work Department), Director Luo Ning (Science and Technology Development Department), and Director Cao Yuanhui (Standards and Quality Department). From MOHURD, participants included Director Yang Guoqiang (Division of Prefabricated Buildings and Wall Materials Innovation), officials Wang Zifei and Zhang Lanqin, Deputy Director Chen Wei (Center for Science and Technology and Industrial Development), and Acting Deputy Director Wang Guangming (Division of Rural Housing Construction and Green Building Materials). Other participants included Liu Jingjiang, Chairman of the Green Building Materials and Components Branch of the China Association of Building Energy Efficiency, as well as Vice President Gao Peng and Vice President Xu Tao from the China Architecture Design and Research Group.
