On June 6, the 2025 “Six-Zero Green Building Materials Day” event, themed “Six-Zero Intelligent Manufacturing · Building a Green Future”, was successfully held at Jining Conch Cement Co., Ltd. The event was hosted by the China Building Materials Federation (CBMF), co-organized by Anhui Conch Group Co., Ltd., and supported by the Shandong Building Materials Industry Association. The event venue was surrounded by banners promoting green development concepts and eye-catching green flags waving in unison, symbolizing the industry's commitment to sustainable transformation.
CBMF President Yan Xiaofeng, Executive Vice President Chen Guoqing, Executive Vice President and Chairman of China National Building Material Group Co., Ltd. Zhou Yuxian, Executive Vice President and Chairman of Beijing Jinyu Group Co., Ltd. Jiang Yingwu, Executive Vice President and Chairman of Anhui Conch Group Co., Ltd. Yang Jun, representatives from the Department of Raw Materials, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Sishui County Party Secretary Zhao Xin, and CBMF resident leaders Zhang Guangpei, Liu Jianhua, Shang Yanqing, and Sun Xingshou attended the event. Also present were CBMF Special Vice Presidents Li Rongjin (President of the Shandong Building Materials Industry Association) and Wu Qingtao (General Manager of the National Building Materials Certification Center), Deng Xikun (CMP Director of Huaxin Cement), as well as over 200 representatives from building materials enterprises, industry associations such as the China Cement Association, and civil society organizations including NRDC. The event was moderated by CBMF Vice President Zhang Dongzhuang.
“Six-Zero Green Building Materials Day”: A Signature Initiative for Industry Transformation
The “Six-Zero Green Building Materials Day” was initiated by CBMF together with CNBM, Beijing Jinyu Group, Anhui Conch Group, Jinjing Group, and Huaxin Cement under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the National Radio and Television Administration. Over the past two years, the event has gained wide recognition both within and beyond the building materials industry. It has been included in MIIT’s Action Plan for High-Quality Development of the Green Building Materials Industry and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment’s Guidelines on Opening Environmental Protection Facilities to the Public in the Building Materials Industry.
This year marked a significant milestone—the event left Beijing and entered the production frontlines for the first time. It also launched the industry’s first public open day, with building materials enterprises and museums across China opening their doors to the public.
President Yan Xiaofeng: Building Public Trust through Green Practices and Openness
In his remarks, President Yan highlighted the continued expansion of the “Six-Zero” initiative, with a growing number of enterprises participating and an increasingly complete standards system. He emphasized that the aim is to make the production and use of green building materials a conscious societal effort.
To achieve this, President Yan identified three key levels of public awareness transformation:
“Seeing is Believing” – by opening up to the public, the industry showcases the ecological transformation of modern “garden-style” factories.
“Understanding and Internalizing” – through transparent, traceable quality systems that reflect the full life-cycle green value of building materials.
“Value Recognition” – by helping consumers realize that choosing healthy, safe, green, and high-quality materials not only ensures better homes but also embodies a low-carbon lifestyle.
Yang Jun: Conch Group Accelerates “Six-Zero” Innovation
Yang Jun, Chairman of Anhui Conch Group, stated that the company actively responds to the national strategy of "pollution reduction and carbon reduction with synergistic efficiency," and is systematically advancing the construction of “Six-Zero” factories. Over 60% of Conch’s production lines have reached benchmark energy efficiency levels, with significant progress in alternative fuels and 1 GW of installed capacity from renewable energy. The company has launched the industry's first zero external power cement plant, piloted unmanned electric mining trucks, unveiled the first AI model for the industry, and completed the world’s first carbon dioxide energy storage demonstration project and China’s first low-carbon binder demonstration line. Conch Group, he emphasized, is committed to innovation-driven, low-carbon leadership.
Zhao Xin, Secretary of the Sishui County Party Committee, remarked that green building materials are a key strategic industry for the region. The county will leverage the event to accelerate high-end, intelligent, green, and clustered development of its green building materials sector.
Executive Vice President Chen Guoqing, on behalf of CBMF, shared the industry's achievements in green and low-carbon development over the past year. Guided by the dual carbon goals, the industry has made notable progress in green transition, technological innovation, “Six-Zero” factory development, and standards improvement—contributing significantly to the vision of a beautiful China.
Standards Implementation and Public Engagement Milestones
At the event, two new standards were officially launched:
Evaluation Requirements for Zero External Power Cement Plants (Part 1: Cement Enterprises)
Evaluation Requirements for Zero-Employee Cement Plants (Part 1: Cement Enterprises)
These standards provide vital technical guidance for the advancement of “Six-Zero” factories in the industry.
Zhou Yuxian, on behalf of CBMF, issued the “Open to the Public” Industry Initiative, calling on enterprises to embrace openness, showcase their green achievements, share development stories, and enhance public engagement and experience.

First Public Open Day Officially Launched
In a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere, all guests jointly launched the building materials industry’s first public open day.
Following the ceremony, the guests visited the world's first zero external power cement demonstration plant at Jining Conch, gaining an in-depth understanding of its five major power generation systems. The factory’s technological innovations and management practices received high praise from participants.
