Recently, the finals of the 2025 National Building Materials Industry Team Leader Competition, co-hosted by the National Committee of the China Machinery, Metallurgical and Building Materials Workers’ Union and the China Building Materials Federation, were successfully held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.
Under the theme “Fostering Excellent Team Leaders in the Building Materials Industry to Advance High-Quality Development”, the competition attracted 6,041 team leaders from 491 enterprises across 30 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities. The event comprehensively assessed and enhanced the overall competence and skill levels of front-line management personnel in the building materials industry, providing strong talent support for achieving the industry’s development vision of “Superior products and advanced industry, for the benefit of mankind.”
Attending and addressing the event were Chen Guoqing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Executive Vice President of the China Building Materials Federation; Zhang Dongzhuang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President; Li Ruiyi, Chairwoman and Party Secretary of the National Committee of the China Machinery, Metallurgical and Building Materials Workers’ Union; Zhang Jie, Vice Chairwoman and Party Committee Member; Huang Tongrong, Vice Chairman and Party Committee Member of the Zhejiang Federation of Trade Unions; Hu Haibiao, Vice Chairman of the Zhejiang Federation of Trade Unions; along with other leaders and distinguished guests from relevant departments.
In his closing remarks, Chen Guoqing emphasized that the promotion of green, low-carbon, safe, and high-quality development in the building materials industry relies on a front-line workforce of team leaders who are competent, capable, and well-versed in management. He noted that the competition serves as an important platform for promoting craftsmanship and enhancing managerial capacity among front-line leaders. It has effectively improved the professionalization and overall quality of the industry’s workforce, showcasing the solid skills and outstanding management capabilities of team leaders in the new era, and achieving the goal of learning and talent cultivation through competition.
At the opening ceremony, Zhang Dongzhuang stated that the joint organization of the National Team Leader Competition by the China Building Materials Federation and the National Committee of the China Machinery, Metallurgical and Building Materials Workers’ Union aims to continuously stimulate the enthusiasm for learning and innovation among team leaders, promote the development of a skilled industrial workforce, and further contribute to the sustainable growth of the building materials industry.
Li Ruiyi highlighted that this year’s competition featured a significantly larger scale, more practical and innovative content, and strong collaboration among multiple parties. It fully demonstrated the professionalism and management capabilities of team leaders in the building materials industry. She expressed hope that the award-winning participants would continue to play exemplary and leading roles, while enterprises strengthen the development of their team leader workforce to build a solid talent foundation for the industry’s high-quality development.
A total of 16 participants stood out as winners of the first, second, and third prizes, along with 3 awards for outstanding referees and 6 group awards. Southern Cement Co., Ltd., Beijing Jinyu Group Co., Ltd., Jilin Yatai (Group) Co., Ltd., CR Cement Technology Holdings Co., Ltd., and Huaxin Cement Co., Ltd. received the Outstanding Organization Awards, while the Zhejiang Construction and Building Materials Workers’ Union, Zhejiang Building Materials Group, Zhejiang Construction Technician College, and Hangzhou Shanya Southern Cement Co., Ltd. received the Special Contribution Awards.
