On November 14, Yan Xiaofeng, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the China Building Materials Federation (CBMF), met with Wu Haiyu, Vice President of Huawei’s Oil & Gas and Mining Corps, and his delegation. Liu Jianhua, Member of the Standing Committee of the CBMF Party Committee and Executive Vice President, also attended the meeting.

Yan Xiaofeng noted that artificial intelligence holds tremendous application potential in the building materials industry. As a key driver for enhancing overall industry productivity, AI is essential to advancing intelligent, green, and high-end development, and plays a crucial role in building a modern industrial system for the sector. He emphasized the importance of accelerating the integration of “AI + Building Materials,” embedding AI technologies throughout product R&D, production and manufacturing, and operational management. This will help drive innovation in R&D models, improve process control, enhance equipment efficiency, and promote intelligent manufacturing across the entire industry.
Wu Haiyu introduced Huawei’s core business areas and the latest progress in applying 5G, cloud computing, AI, and IoT technologies to support digital and intelligent transformation in manufacturing. He stated that Huawei is accelerating the deployment of AI solutions in the building materials industry—covering production, safety management, logistics, and operations—and looks forward to deepening cooperation with CBMF to jointly advance digital and intelligent development in the sector.
The two sides held in-depth discussions on topics including the application of artificial intelligence and industrial internet technologies in promoting scientific and technological innovation in the building materials industry, supporting the development of “Six-Zero” factories, and building end-to-end smart scenarios covering the full “mine–plant–park” value chain.
Participants included Liu Pengfei, General Manager for the Building Materials Industry, Song Lanlan, Director of Standardization, and Zou Haoyu, Industry Director, from Huawei’s Oil & Gas and Mining Corps; and Shi Hongwei, CBMF’s Technical Director and Deputy Secretary-General, along with Luo Ning, Director of the Science and Technology Development Department, and Deputy Director Zhang Meng.
