February, a delegation led by Ms. Shen Yulu, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the China Building Materials Federation (CBMF)

On 9 February, a delegation led by Ms. Shen Yulu, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the China Building Materials Federation (CBMF), visited the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in China. The delegation was warmly received by H.E. Mr. Willy K. Bett, EGH, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kenya to China.

The two sides held in-depth discussions on the investment footprint of China’s building materials industry in Kenya, Kenya’s investment policies, and the outlook of its market. China’s building materials industry has established a solid industrial foundation and strong technological capabilities in sectors such as cement, glass, ceramics, and new building materials. In recent years, the industry has actively promoted the development of “Six-Zero Factories,” accumulating extensive experience in green and low-carbon technologies. CBMF expressed its expectation to explore multi-level and sustainable industrial and investment cooperation in Kenya.

Ambassador Bett spoke highly of the achievements of China’s building materials industry and introduced Kenya’s latest policies and key priorities in attracting foreign investment and advancing industrialization. He cordially invited Chinese building materials enterprises to participate in the Kenya International Investment Conference 2026 (KIICO 2026), to be held from 25 to 27 March 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya, encouraging them to gain deeper insights into Kenya’s investment policies and business environment and to identify potential cooperation opportunities through the conference platform.

The meeting was also attended by Ms. Lynette Mwende Ndile, Deputy Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya; Mr. Livingstone M. Wahuro, Trade/Commercial Attaché; and Mr. Zhang Hanwen, Assistant Director of the International Cooperation Department of CBMF.

Going forward, CBMF will continue to leverage its role as an industry bridge to encourage greater participation of Chinese building materials enterprises in investment and cooperation in Kenya and across Africa, promoting mutual benefit and shared development.
