On February 26, Yan Xiaofeng, Party Secretary and President of the China Building Materials Federation (CBMF), met with a visiting delegation led by Zhi Xiao, Party Secretary and Chairman of the China Building Materials Academy (CBMA). Joining the discussion were Chen Guoqing, Deputy Party Secretary and Executive Vice President of CBMF; Liu Jianhua, Vice President of CBMF; as well as Li Yong and Wen Zhaijun, Vice General Managers of the CBMA.

Yan Xiaofeng extended New Year greetings to all staff at the CBMA and affirmed the achievements made over the past year. He noted that as the most influential national-level research institution in the building materials industry, CBMA must dare to break with convention, rethink its strategic positioning, and innovate its R&D paradigms during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period and beyond. He urged the CBMA to deeply explore the path of reform and development for research institutes under the current landscape. Furthermore, he emphasized that the Academy should adopt a forward-looking perspective and a more open approach, strengthen basic theoretical and frontier technological research, and accelerate R&D and applications in fields such as artificial intelligence, new materials, and non-metallic minerals, thereby providing essential scientific and technological support for the high-quality development of the industry.

Zhi Xiao expressed gratitude for the Federation’s long-term guidance and support. He highlighted the progress made by the Academy in 2025 regarding operations, sci-tech innovation, facility renovations, and contributions to national strategies and major projects. He expressed hope that the Federation would continue to provide its guidance and support in areas such as sci-tech innovation, standardization and quality, and digital-intelligent transformation.
