On 10 March, Yan Xiaofeng, Party Secretary and President of the China Building Materials Federation (CBMF), met with a visiting delegation led by Guan Li, Party Secretary, Chairman and General Manager of Beixin Group Building Materials Co., Ltd. The two sides conducted extensive exchanges on deepening cooperation in multiple fields and jointly promoting high-quality development.
Also attending the meeting were Chen Guoqing, Deputy Party Secretary and Executive Vice President of CBMF; Sun Xingshou, Member of the Party Standing Committee, Vice President and Chief Economist of CBMF; and Zhang Jing, Deputy Party Secretary, Director and Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Beixin Building Materials.
Yan Xiaofeng welcomed Guan Li and his delegation and affirmed the achievements made by Beixin Building Materials in recent years. He noted that while the building materials industry is accelerating efforts to build a modern industrial system and guiding the sector toward green, low-carbon, safe and high-quality development, it also faces challenges such as severe overcapacity, supply–demand imbalances, and insufficient technological iteration. Some enterprises have fallen into difficulties including vicious competition, the “experience trap,” stagnating innovation, and declining product quality.
He emphasized that to address the industry’s current challenges and achieve new breakthroughs, efforts must focus on technological innovation, improvement of standards, market expansion, and enhanced services. Enterprises should adopt a long-term development perspective, formulate clear strategic plans, and overcome technological bottlenecks to create new markets and new demand through new technologies and products. They should also raise their strategic positioning and cultivate a global vision, closely track international market dynamics, benchmark against leading international enterprises, strengthen brand building, continuously improve the quality and substance of development, and strive to build an integrated, full-lifecycle service closed loop.
Yan also noted that the Federation is studying the establishment of a high-quality development indicator system with characteristics specific to the building materials industry, aiming to guide and encourage enterprises to shift from simply pursuing scale and speed toward placing greater emphasis on development quality, thereby achieving a balance between economic and social benefits.
Yan reviewed the cooperation between the two sides in areas such as promoting green building materials in rural areas, adapting “good materials” to “good housing,” technological innovation, and standards development. He expressed hope that Beixin Building Materials would continue to play the role of an outstanding enterprise in the industry and accelerate its transformation toward high-quality development.
First, it should play a demonstration role by developing benchmark projects and fulfilling the responsibilities of a “national team” enterprise, providing high-standard integrated solutions for “good housing” tailored to different scenarios and needs.
Second, it should focus on key challenges and strengthen technological innovation by actively participating in the cultivation and establishment of “Six-Zero” factories, while making continuous breakthroughs in new product innovation and new business models.
Third, it should strengthen consumer orientation and promote upgrades in both products and services by improving product quality traceability mechanisms, enhancing product quality and service transparency, and paying greater attention to the artistic attributes of products and the level of industrial design.
Fourth, it should strengthen international cooperation and exchanges to expand overseas development space and achieve mutually beneficial integration and cooperation. This should involve not only exporting products but also promoting the global expansion of physical industries, enabling Chinese standards and Chinese brands to go global together.
Guan Li introduced the latest developments and changes in Beixin Building Materials’ business system and development, and expressed gratitude for the long-standing guidance and support provided by the China Building Materials Federation. He noted that Beixin Building Materials has been advancing the “four transformations”, accelerating its shift from a single-product supplier to a provider of green building materials system solutions. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the company has achieved notable progress in industrial upgrading, innovation breakthroughs, green transformation, and international expansion, demonstrating the “Beixin speed.”
Looking ahead, Beixin Building Materials will continue to adhere to strategic leadership, further develop its “one core with two wings and global layout” strategy, and build a coordinated industrial ecosystem. The company will uphold value-oriented management and safeguard the bottom line of high-quality development; continue to drive innovation by building a competitive “moat” through new processes, new products, new scenarios, and new models; and pursue both internal growth and external expansion by leveraging mergers and acquisitions while strengthening core competitive advantages internally. Guan expressed hope that Beixin Building Materials and the Federation would further work together in areas such as the promotion and application of “good materials” and green building materials, brand development, technological innovation, standards formulation, and international cooperation, contributing to the building of a modern building materials industrial system.
