On March 17, Yan Xiaofeng, President of the China Building Materials Federation, met with Thomas Guillot, Chief Executive Officer of the Global Cement and Concrete Association, who was visiting the Federation. Liu Jianhua, Vice President of CBMF, attended the meeting.

Yan Xiaofeng extended a warm welcome to Mr. Guillot and provided an overview of the positive progress made in the green and low-carbon development of China’s building materials industry during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, as well as the development priorities and key directions for the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan period. He noted that the current international landscape is complex and challenging, with global climate change posing increasingly prominent challenges. China’s building materials industry has already achieved peak carbon emissions and is now entering the phase of carbon neutrality. The industry will continue to advance its transformation toward green, low-carbon, and intelligent development. He expressed the hope that both sides will further strengthen communication, deepen practical cooperation, and jointly promote the green and low-carbon development of the industry.

Thomas Guillot introduced the latest progress made by GCCA in promoting net-zero emissions in the cement and concrete industry. He expressed GCCA’s willingness to further enhance exchanges and cooperation with CBMF in areas such as information sharing, technological innovation, and mutual recognition of standards.
