On July 29, Wu Qingtao, Party Committee Secretary and President of the China Building Materials Federation, led a delegation to Wuhan University of Technology (WUT). They held a meeting with Meng Fangbing, Party Committee Secretary of WUT, and Wang Fazhou, Vice President of the Federation and President of WUT. The delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of Silicate Materials for Architectures, the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Technology for Materials Synthesis and Processing, and the National Engineering Research Center for Fiber Optic Sensing Technology and Networks. They also held exchanges with Academician Jiang Desheng, Academician Zhang Lianmeng, and Academician Fu Zhengyi of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Liu Jianhua, Standing Committee Member of the Federation's Party Committee and Resident Vice President, and Guo Yongqi, Assistant to the President of WUT, attended the symposium.

Wu Qingtao stated that WUT has deep roots in the industry, rich academic heritage, and fruitful achievements in education and research, continuously providing landmark scientific achievements and outstanding talents for the building materials and related upstream-downstream industries. He noted that the building materials sector is currently in a critical transformation period characterized by the upgrading of traditional capacity and accelerated breakthroughs in inorganic non-metallic new materials. He expressed his hope that WUT would align with industry demands, focus on industrial frontiers, strengthen basic research and key generic technology developments, and yield more breakthrough results in green and low-carbon transition, digital transformation, and new material R&D, injecting stronger innovation momentum into high-quality industry development.

Meng Fangbing expressed his gratitude to the Federation for its long-standing care and support for WUT's development. He introduced the university's achievements in talent cultivation, discipline construction, scientific research, and the building of the "Genuine Materials to Strengthen the Nation" educational community as a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education. He emphasized that WUT remains committed to relying on, serving, and expanding within the industry, and will leverage its unique advantages in discipline, research, talent, and platforms to support and participate in the Federation's work as always, while hoping for continued guidance and support from the Federation.

The two sides held in-depth exchanges on strengthening joint efforts in major "Open Competition" scientific and technological projects, the transformation of scientific achievements, standard system construction, talent cultivation, and co-hosting competitions on carbon management, industrial design, and AI, agreeing to further deepen future cooperation.
