On April 10, entrusted by the Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection of the National Development and Reform Commission, the China Building Materials Federation and the National Energy Conservation Center jointly organized the “Symposium on Energy-Saving and Carbon Reduction Retrofit in the Building Materials Industry.” Liu Jianhua, Vice President of the Federation, attended the meeting. Relevant officials from the Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection of the NDRC, Liu Qiong, Director of the National Energy Conservation Center, representatives from the Development and Reform Commissions of Hebei Province, Anhui Province, Shandong Province, Hubei Province, and Guangdong Province, as well as more than 40 representatives from key enterprises in the cement and glass sectors—including Tianshan Materials, BBMG Jidong Cement, Anhui Conch Cement, Huaxin Cement, Shandong Shanshui Cement Group, Shandong Jinjing Group, Triumph Technology, Xinyi Glass, CSG Holding, and Kibing Group—attended the symposium.

The symposium was chaired by Liu Qiong. Relevant officials from the NDRC’s Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection provided a detailed interpretation of the overall deployment of energy-saving and carbon reduction retrofit, supporting funding policies, and the work arrangements for the green and low-carbon transformation of the building materials industry. Liu Jianhua introduced the latest progress of the building materials industry in energy-saving and carbon reduction retrofit and proposed key directions for technological upgrading during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period. During the discussion session, participants conducted in-depth exchanges on the progress made in various regions and enterprises, practical difficulties encountered in advancing retrofits, and policy recommendations.

Going forward, the China Building Materials Federation will earnestly implement the relevant work requirements of the NDRC’s Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection and actively promote energy-saving and carbon reduction retrofit in key sectors such as cement and glass. Enterprises with retrofit intentions are welcome to contact the Federation. Leveraging professional resources, the Federation will provide “one-stop” support services, including energy-saving diagnostics, technical assessment, policy consultation, and pathway alignment.
