On September 9, Wu Qingtao, Party Secretary and President of China Building Materials Federation, led a delegation to China Building Materials Academy Co., Ltd. (CBMA) for work exchanges, and visited the CBMA exhibition hall, Non-Metallic Materials AI+ Laboratory, Advanced Ceramics Laboratory, and Quartz Laboratory accompanied by Zhi Xiao, Vice President of the Federation, Assistant General Manager of China National Building Material Group, Party Secretary, and Chairman of CBMA. Liu Jianhua, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Resident Vice President of the Federation, Shang Yanqing, Deputy Party Secretary and Resident Vice President, Sun Xingshou, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Resident Vice President, and Secretary-General, Luo Deyuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, and Chairman of the Board of Supervisors; Zhang Wenjin, Deputy Party Secretary, Employee Director, and Chairman of the Trade Union of CBMA, Li Yong, Member of the Party Committee, Vice General Manager, General Legal Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer, and Wu Yujin, Member of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, accompanied the visit and attended the symposium.
Wu Qingtao pointed out during the exchange that CBMA possesses a relatively complete set of scientific research and development resources in the building materials industry, serving as an important core force in driving the industry's scientific and technological innovation and development. He affirmed CBMA's efforts and achievements in recent years in carrying out scientific research and development, tackling key technological challenges, converting scientific achievements, incubating industries, cultivating talents, and conducting AI digital and intelligent R&D. He emphasized that the current building materials industry is at a critical juncture, and the new Council of the Federation has clearly proposed to reconstruct the industrial system, making efforts around three aspects: optimizing and upgrading the traditional building materials industry, cultivating and expanding inorganic non-metallic new materials, and integrating and improving the non-metallic mineral resources industry. CBMA should further leverage the professional leading role of scientific research institutes in fields such as scientific and technological innovation, cultivation of the inorganic non-metallic new materials industry, standardization construction, and international cooperation in the building materials industry, making greater contributions to the healthy and orderly development of the building materials industry.
Zhi Xiao expressed a warm welcome to the visit of Wu Qingtao and his delegation, and expressed gratitude to the Federation for its long-standing care and guidance. He introduced CBMA's development status and strategic layout in recent years, as well as its profound technological accumulation formed in pan-semiconductor fields such as advanced ceramics, artificial crystals, and quartz materials by continuously deepening research around seven major disciplines while adhering to its original aspiration of serving the country through science and technology over the past 76 years as a national-level scientific research institution in the building materials industry. He stated that CBMA always keeps in mind the fundamental purpose that "industry interests override corporate interests," adheres to the development philosophy of technology for good, openness, and sharing, and hopes to effectively serve the needs of the industry with CBMA's technological accumulation and scientific research advantages under the guidance of the Federation.
